| No player drain at Belle Vue |
| Sunday 17 January 2010 |
RHYL managing director Dave Milner insists no players have asked to leave Belle Vue despite the club's current financial crisis. There have been rumours that the departure of the champions' main benefactor and president Peter Parry (pictured), has led to a number of Lilywhites' players seeking better wage deals at other clubs. But Milner says strenuous efforts are being made to work with the squad on agreeing a financial package to see out the season, with a satisfactory deal appearing to have been reached. "I can't comment on whether our players have been asking around elsewhere, but from the club's point of view no-one has asked to be released," Milner told Lilywhites Online. "We are determined to ensure the club will find funding for the rest of the season - I believe we will do so - and we are also looking ahead to next season and ways we can progress." Milner said the club is keen to attract a main sponsor for next season, adding that outgoing president Parry will retain a financial input. "We are still in every competition. We believe we still have a good chance of qualifying for Europe through the league, we are in the League Cup final and the last 16 of the Welsh Cup," added Milner. "A lot of clubs in the Welsh Premier wouldn't mind swapping places with Rhyl right now." |
