| Monday 01 March 2010 |
PORTUGAL have named Sporting's Yannick Djalo and Bolton's Ricardo Vaz Te in a strong squad to face the Wales Under-23 semi-pros on Wednesday. Striker Yannick (pictured) played in Lisbon's Europa League victory over Everton on Thursday and also scored in his team's 3-0 win over Porto last night. Winger Vaz Te has made 58 appearances for the Trotters, although his career at the club has been interrupted by a ligament injury sustained on the opening day of season 2007/8. The Portuguese have named an 18-man squad for the International Challenge Trophy match in Fatima, where the Welsh squad arrived on Sunday night. Port Talbot's Drew Fahiya withdrew from the original travelling party last week and has been replaced by Craig Jones of Llanelli. Portugal squad: Emidio Rafael, Joao Ribeiro e Nuno Coelho (Academica), Fabio Coentao (Benfica), Ricardo Vaz Te (Bolton Wanderers), Vasco Fernandes (Celta Vigo), Ruben Micael, Miguel Lopes, Nuno Andre Coelho (FC Porto), Vieirinha (PAOK), Bruno Gama, Vitor Gomes (Rio Ave), Rui Patricio, Saleiro, Yannick (Sporting Lisbon), Paulo Machado (Toulouse), Pele (Valladolid), Mario Felgueiras (Vitoria Setubal). |
