| Bala frustrate the Bluebirds |
| Monday 15 March 2010 |
HAVERFORDWEST County's Super 12 ambitions were again frustrated as they were held to a home draw by Bala Town on Sunday. The Bluebirds, who have now drawn their last three games, took a second-minute lead at the New Bridge Meadow when Tom Ramasut latched-on to a long clearance and lobbed Lakesiders' keeper Leon Bimpson from 20-yards. Tom Billing and Lee Hudgell came close to extending the lead before Bala's Danny Jellicoe headed against the bar on the half-hour. But, two minutes into the second-half, Ricky Evans levelled with his eighth goal of the season when his free-kick took a bounce and found its way through a crowded box. The visitors enjoyed a period of domination but failed to add to their tally while some sustained County pressure ended with Billing firing straight at keeper Leon Bimpson. Rivals for a top-10 finish, Airbus and Carmarthen, both dropped two points at the weekend as County continue their quest at Neath next weekend.
