George Horan FORMER Rhyl captain George Horan is set to join the growing band of ex-Welsh Premier players at phoenix club Chester FC.
Manager Neil Young moved for former TNS striker Michael Wilde yesterday, who joined Stuart Graves (Rhyl), Carl Ruffer (Rhyl), Greg Stones (Rhyl and TNS), Mark Connolly (Bangor and Rhyl) and coach Gary Powell (Bangor, Conwy, Flint, Rhyl and TNS) in an impressive line-up of ex-domestic league talent.
The 28-year-old Horan, who was also believed to be a target for Aberystwyth, Airbus UK Broughton and Bala Town, was named in the Welsh Premier managers' team of the season four years running between 2006 and 2009, spent five seasons at Belle Vue before leaving in February to join Droylsden.
He started his career at Connah's Quay in season 1999/0 and has made a total of 288 Welsh Premier league appearances, scoring 27 goals.
Horan moved to Belle Vue in the 2005 close season and played for the Lilywhites during Young's reign as assistant manager, resisting a move to The New Saints in 2008 to remain an integral part of the squad that won the league title a year later.
