Maritimo want to reverse Bangor ties

MaritimoCS MARITIMO want to reverse their Europa League legs with Bangor City.
The Portuguese First Division outfit, who play in Funchal on the picturesque island of Madeira, set-up a third qualifying round tie against the Citizens by beating Sporting Fingal of Ireland 3-2 at Dublin's Dalymount Park on Thursday night.
But they played their home leg, which also ended in a 3-2 scoreline, in the Funchal Stadium because their home ground, Estádio dos Barreiros, is currently being redeveloped into a new, state-of-the-art stadium.
Scheduled to be at home next Thursday, July 29, Maritimo say they would be able to host the home leg a week later and want to travel to Wrexham's Racecourse ground next week instead.
The Portuguese, who were too hot for European debutants Fingal, went ahead with a penalty from Alonso and doubled their lead on 67 minutes when home keeper Clarke couldn’t prevent Marquinho’s 25-yard drive finding the net.
Sporting got a goal back from Eamon Zayed on 82 minutes and, after substitute Kanu had restored the visitors' two-goal lead five minutes later, snatched a late consolation, again from the boot of Zayed.
