FK TAURAS and TPS Turku, conquerors of Llanelli and Port Talbot respectively, both made their exit from the Europa League this week.Tauras went down 6-1 on aggregate to APOEL Nicosia, a result which is unlikely to see any tears shed in Stebonheath Park after the Reds were involved in a controversial second leg in Lithuania. TPS were eliminated by Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge on away goals as the visitors scored twice in the second half in Finland to earn a 2-2 draw. Elsewhere, there was joy for Shamrock Rovers of the Airtricity Irish League, who triumphed 1-0 away against Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv to prevail 2-1 on aggregate and set-up a tie with Italian giants Juventus. But Dundalk were beaten 8-0 on aggregate by Levski Sofia. North of the border, part-times Cliftonville are celebrating after knocking out HNK Cibalia to set up a third qualifying round tie with CSKA Sofia. The Irish drew 0-0 in "blistering heat" in Croatia for a 1-0 aggregate success. SPL outfit Motherwall, who beat Llanelli last season, went through 2-0 on aggregate against Briedablik of Iceland.
