ABERYSTWYTH were bit-part players as Chester celebrated their first home game since reforming with a 3-0 win at the Deva Stadium. A crowd of 1,132 turned out to welcome Neil Young's side, which contained a strong contingent of ex-Welsh Premier players - Marc Connolly, George Horan, Stuart Graves, Greg Stones and Michael Wilde - in the starting line-up. On-loan TNS winger Ryan Marriott and trialist midfielder Ricky Evans played for the Seasiders, who were a goal down after 20 minutes when Mark Peers crossed from the right for Iain Howard to net at the far post. Half-time sub goalkeeper Dave Roberts soon gifted Chester a second when his poor clearance fell straight to the feet of Peers, who did his chances of earning a permanent deal no harm with a superb lob from all of 45 yards. And the hosts added a third near the end when Stuart Jones powered home a header from Howard's corner kick, putting the seal on an enjoyable afternoon for the Deva faithful. Round-up Goals from Tim Hicks, Nick Harrhy and Corey Thomas gave Carmarthen Town a 3-1 win at Caersws, for whom new signing Richard Evans was the goal scorer. Harrhy, who is trialing with the Bluebirds, played 20 (+16) Welsh Premier games for Llanelli between 2005 and 2007. Former Bangor City frontman Ashley Stott scored for Conference North outfit Hyde in a 2-1 win at Prestatyn Town. Kyle Wilson had put the Cheshire visitors ahead, with Ian Griffiths notching a consolation for the Seasiders five minutes from time. Carl Owen notched a brace on his return to Porthmadog as Airbus UK Broughton won 5-3 at The Traeth. Jake Cassidy from the penalty spot, Owen and Cassidy again scored three in three minutes just before the break for the visitors, with Paul McManus grabbed two in the second half. Barry Evans, Gareth Owen and Carl Jones got Port's goals. Jordan Follows scored a hat-trick as Llanelli beat Bridgend Street 4-0 in a game to officially open the Welsh League outfit's new ground in Splott.
