| Luke Holden joins the Bloods |
| Wednesday 28 July 2010 |
FORMER TNS and Rhyl wingman Luke Holden has signed for Blue Square Bet North club Droyslden. The 23-year-old left-sided player, who was a Liverpool youth and Tranmere Rovers trainee, scored six goals from 22 (+5) Welsh Premier appearances after signing for The New Saints in August 2007. Released the following April, he followed manager Ken McKenna to Cammell Laird and also played at Bradford Park Avenue before returning to the league with Rhyl in January 2009 and notching four goals in 11 appearances for the Belle Vue outfit. After failing to agree terms with Coventry City last summer, he joined Charlton Athletic on loan on transfer deadline day, later moving to Wrexham on an emergency loan deal in February after the Addicks decided not to offer a permanent contract. Several other players have followed a similar path to the Bloods, including ex-TNS trio Steven Beck, Carl Lamb and Kevin Townson, and Rhyl defender George Horan, who is now with Chester FC.
