BANGOR City maintained their 100 percent start to the new Welsh Premier season by beating Bala Town 3-2 in the live TV game at Maes Tegid. In a frantic opening, the Lakesiders took an early lead when Chris Mason nodded-in John Irving's cross, but the Citizens soon forged ahead. Dave Morley scored from the penalty spot after Craig Garside had been felled by Mark Powell and, within a minute, Chris Jones headed-in at the far post. The Citizens survived some Bala pressure before extending their lead nine minutes before the break when Alan Bull held-off a Danny Jellicoe challenge to score a fine individual goal. Bala responded soon after the break with a goal from Neil Fisher but, despite chances at both ends, the scoreline remained at 2-3. Carmarthen Town slumped to a second consecutive home defeat as Airbus UK Broughton ran out comfortable 4-1 winners at Richmond Park. Ryan Edwards gave the Wingmakers a seventh-minute lead from the spot after Lee Bevan had fouled Carl Owen. Danny Desormeaux extended the advantage when he beat advancing keeper Mike Lewis to the ball and Andy Moran added a third from Matty Cook's cross. Tim Hicks pulled a goal back before half-time but Moran completed a brace in the second-half, which saw the visitors reduced to 10 men late in the game with a second yellow for Gio Feliciello. The Old Gold's neighbours Haverfordwest are also still pointless after a 1-0 defeat at Prestatyn Town, for whom Lee Hunt scored his third goal of the campaign to settle the contest. The Bluebirds missed a chance to equalise just before the hour mark when full-back Jack Lewis handled a Danny Thomas back-post header, but Jack Christopher’s spot kick was superbly saved by keeper Jon Dunt.
