NEWTOWN manager Andy Cale says it is important for supporters to remain realistic despite an unbeaten start to the new Welsh Premier campaign. The Robins moved up to third place in the table with a 1-0 home win over Prestatyn Town thanks to a goal from defender Paul Keddle, but Cale said: "It was very much a defensive performance. "I'm still looking at players and what they can and can't do and naturally some are not too happy when they don't make the staring line up. "But this is very much a learning curve for us all. We have had a better start than anyone can have imagined, considering the last-minute happenings here. "But it is very important that we keep our feet on the floor. The priority this season will be to ensure that we stay in the Welsh Premier and the seven points in the bag will go a long way to helping us achieve that goal." Carmarthen boss Tomi Morgan was delighted with Friday night's win at previously-unbeaten Port Talbot Town. "I thought we fully deserved the win. Some might have written us off already but I thought we showed considerable effort and team spirit tonight," he said. "Defensively we were far better and tighter and importantly we did not make mistakes. When you are building a new side it takes more time to gel than when you have an established team. "Both lads took their goals well. We had to change a little with the early substitution but I thought there were some good performances out there tonight, we played as a team."
