A VICTORY at Port Talbot followed by a goalless draw against Aberystwyth in the League Cup have lifted the gloom at Richmond Park. But Carmarthen manager Tomi Morgan (pictured) now has injury woes to contend with for the visit of table-topping Bangor City on Saturday. Striker Tim Hicks, midfielder Lee Jenkins and defenders Lee Phillips, Lee Bevan and Kevin Davies are all absentees. Bevan is to undergo a minor operation to clean out a knee, while Davies is recovering from an operation to repair a burst appendix. "We played well at Port Talbot and I thought we could have sneaked it 1-0 against Aberystwyth," Morgan told the South Wales Evening Post. "But we did not take a few chances, although their keeper Steve Cann made some great saves. "In the second half we were strong and that's encouraging. We have conceded only one goal in two matches and that was from the spot." Morgan acknowledged the tough task his side faces against Neville Powell's high-flyers. "They have made a terrific start, with wins against Llanelli and Neath particularly impressive. "But there are no easy games in this 12-team league and I'm counting on my players to be spurred on by two good results. "We are a bit thin on the ground, but there's no point in dilly-dallying, we have to go out there and give it our best shot," added Morgan. |
