Welsh Premier League Football - Marksman Evans returns to his roots

FIFTH on the Welsh Premier's all-time goal scorers' list, Graham Evans has returned to his roots by rejoining Caersws.
Three-times winner of the league golden boot award, Evans leaves Aberystwyth Town after spending two seasons at Park Avenue, having failed to make an appearance in the current campaign.
It is the third time that the 30-year-old has returned to the Bluebirds, where his father Mickey has been in charge for most of the past 25 years, and probably signals the end of a Welsh Premier career which has yielded 157 goals from 290 (+59) appearances.
A Welsh Schools Under-18 and semi-professional international, Evans spent two years on contract at Aston Villa but was unable to secure a first-team place and, instead, spent nine seasons with the Villagers.
After spending pre-season 2005/6 on trial at Hereford United, he signed a one-year deal with the Bulls at the beginning of August, but moved to TNS in January 2006 after being unable to break into the Edgar Street outfit's first-team line-up on a consistent basis.
After being unable to agree terms with TNS for 2006/7, he returned to Caersws, moving-on after two seasons to join Aberystwyth.
Evans, who is a Welsh semi-professional international and also scored the only European goal for Caersws, has also featured in three Loosemores League Cup final wins with the club.
"It is great to welcome Graham back to Caersws, it's where it all began for him and I am sure he will prove just as big a player upon his return," says assistant manager Hugh Clarke.
"His record speaks for itself and he has scored goals his entire career.
"We are getting back to the days when Caersws had the best team of local lads in the area and Graham's return shows our ambition."
