Brief Hyde spell over for Stott

Ashley StottWITTON Albion have turned to Hyde and former Bangor City striker Ashley Stott to score the goals to fire them towards the top of the Evo-Stik Division One North summit.
Front runner Stott left the Citizens during the close season for Hyde, but has been unable to break into the first-team reckoning and could make his debut at Curzon Ashton tomorrow after switching to Wincham Park.
“I’m hoping Ashley can find the net for us in the same way he has at his other clubs,” said Witton manager Paul Ogden.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been looking to strengthen in that area of the field but every side will say the same; they want a 20-goals-a-season striker.
“We’re no different.”
Stott, 22, scored 36 goals in 70 starts at Farrar Road, either side of a spell for ex-Albion boss Jim Vince at FC Halifax Town two years ago.
City paid a fee to secure his return to the club a year ago, but the former Preston North End junior failed to recapture the scoring form he showed after first arriving from Altrincham in July 2006.
