NEATH'S biggest-ever Welsh Premier attendance saw Lee Trundle and Kristian O'Leary make their home debuts in a 5-0 thumping of Newtown. A crowd of 884 turned-up at The Gnoll and were rewarded with the Eagles' biggest-ever league victory and goals from both of the former Swansea City stars. Paul Cochlin opened the account after 24 minutes, but the Robins held firm until just after the break, when O'Leary notched his goal. Craig Hughes added the third minutes later with Trundle making it 4-0, and another ex-Swan, Chad Bond, put the icing on the cake in stoppage time. Haverfordwest County won an early season six-pointer at Maes Tegid to leave Bala Town in the basement and still without a point. The only goal of the game arrived straight after half-time when Lakesiders' keeper Leon Bimpson came yards out of his area to deal with a Bluebirds' attack and cleared the ball as far as Chris O'Sullivan, who sent a superb 40-yarder over the back-pedalling keeper. Bimpson made some amends with a fingertip save from a 30-yard Matty Collins piledriver as the hosts were left to rue a couple of good first-half chances. And there was further woe for manager Colin Caton, with winger Owain Roberts taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
