MIKE Walsh has become the fifth signing of the January transfer window for Aberystwyth Town after moving from Bangor City. The 25 year-old was the subject of enquiries from several Wels Premier clubs after making just two full and five substitute appearances for the Citizens this season. Walsh started his career at Rhyl before moving to Chester City in 2004, where he made six first team appearances, scoring his debut goal against Southend in March 2005. He had a trial period with Wrexham before returning to Belle Vue in August 2005 and then making the move to Bangor City. Walsh, who is a former captain of the North Wales Under-18 team, left Farrar Road in the summer of 2009 to move to Cyprus and joined APOP Kinyras Pegias but returned to City last May. He scored 15 goals from 106 (+14) league appearances during his time with Bangor. Photo: Mike Walsh takes on Kristian Ipsa of Midtylland during a European tie [Gareth Hughes]. |
