THREE Welsh Premier clubs were successful in pre-season action on Tuesday night.
The New Saints beat Bridgnorth Town 4-0 in a Shropshire Senior Cup semi-final at Park Hall.
Craig Jones opened the scoring for the dominant hosts with a header from Chris Seargeant's corner after 36 minutes.
Greg Draper added the second just past the hour mark, heading home a rebound after keeper Chris Crook had parried an Alex Darlington shot.
Phil Baker's far post header and a well-worked move finished off by Aeron Edwards completed the scoring to set-up a meeting with either Market Drayton or AFC Telford United in the final.
Rhys Healey got Gap Connah's Quay off the mark in the first minute at home to Runcorn Town.
A 22nd-minute penalty from Ricky Evans was blocked but Dean Canning was on hand to stab in the rebound.
Player-manager Mark McGregor headed a third, before James McShane pulled a goal back for the visitors.
Port Talbot started their pre-season with a 3-0 win over Welsh League Division One outfit AFC Porth at Treforest. Lewis Harlin, Daniel Thomas and David Brooks scored for the Steelmen, who received a blow with a hamstring injury for Craig Jones.
