| Never on a Saturday for Neath |

NEATH have written to the Welsh Premier secretariat to say they want to avoid playing home games on Saturdays to avoid a clash with local attractions Swansea City and the Ospreys rugby club."We are willing and eager to play as many home games on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons as possible," says secretary Tony Melding. "Obviously that means that we are willing to travel away on the same days, in order to be flexible to league fixtures. "We cannot expect to play at home on Sundays and Fridays and away on Saturdays - that would be unfair and inflexible and would not work. "It is well reported that the league cannot compete with other high profile games on a Saturday afternoon and playing our games to avoid them will both aid us as a football club and the League itself through increased attendances." League secretary John Deakin has already said that he would like to see more matches staged on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons next season in a bid to increase attendances.
