| Both managers have played in the final |

BOTH of this year's Welsh Cup final managers know what it's like to play in the showpiece event.
"Believe it or nor, I've played in the Welsh Cup final - not a lot of people know that!" says Aberystwyth Town boss Brian Coyne, who was in the Shrewsbury Town team for the second leg of the 1980 final which saw Newport County win 3-0 at the Gay Meadow. And opposing manager Nev Powell was a member of the Bangor City side who lost 5-1 on aggregate against the Shrews in the two-legged 1985 final. Powell then went on to represent the club in the European Cup Winners' Cup the following season when City famously beat Frederikstad of Norway on away goals to set up a second round pairing with Atletico Madrid in which they were defeated by a creditable 3-0 aggregate score. "Bangor are one of the biggest clubs in Wales and the fans expect us to win trophies," says Powell. "That was true when I was here as a player, and it's true today. "A club the size of Bangor City should be in Europe every year," he added. Meanwhile Coyne wants to erase the memory of his personal cup final woe and lift the trophy for the Seasiders to end a 109-year wait. “Bangor are the holders and they have won the cup a few times in recent years, so we’ll go into the game as the underdogs, but I believe that we’ve got the players who can go on to win it," he says.
