A FORMER player with seven Welsh Premier clubs, who also managed Oswestry Town, Dave Norman is now manager of Wingate & Finchley.The 36-year-old quit the domestic league four years ago to take-up a schools' development role with Arsenal and played for Wealdstone after moving to London. He then went on the manage Old Aloysians in the Amateur Football Combination, guiding the club to runners-up spot and then the title last season He was appointed manager of Isthmian League Division One North Wingate & Finchley this summer. A Welsh Under-18 international defender, Norman was at centre-half for newly-promoted Llansantffraid FC when they played their first game in the League of Wales on 14 August 1993 in a 3-1 victory over Briton Ferry. In the intervening years, Norman played in every season for Mold Alexandra, Barry Town, Rhyl, Bangor City, Oswestry Town and Caernarfon, clocking up 174 (+31) appearances. On the final day of season 2004/5, he played his last league game for Welshpool in a 2-1 home win over Afan Lido. |
