Toner's goal settles it for Bala
A FIFTH goal of the season for John Toner settled this Boxing Day contest at the Deeside Stadium.
The former TNS marksman struck in the 12th-minute, rising higher than the Nomads' defence to glance a header past keeper Terry McCormick from a free-kick.
But Nomads were unlucky to see a Mike Hayes effort hit the crossbar and Stuart Scheuber's eight-yard shot brought a good save from Bala keeper Leon Bimpson.
The Lakesiders defended comfortably in the second-half without ever threatening to extend their lead as the hosts tired after two weeks of inactivity. |
