Lightfoot has clocked up more than 500 Football League appearances
NEWI Cefn Druids have added to their squad by going for two players with Football
League experience.
Chris Lightfoot played in the Football League with Crewe Alexandra, Wigan and
Chester scoring 20 goals in more than 500 appearances and appeared in a Wembley
play-off final while at Gresty Road.
After being relieved of his duties as player/manaer at Runcorn he moved to Marine
as player/coach in January.
Former Wrexham midfielder Kieran Durkan returns to the Welsh Premier after playing
three games for ex-team mate Waynne Phillips at Caernarfon Town in 2003/4.
The Swansea boss Brian Flynn signed the diminutive Durkan from Rochdale in January
2003, before his move to The Oval.
A former Irish Under-21 international, he switched nearer home by by joining Runcorn
FC Halton in June 2004 and then signed for Leek Town in March this year.
After a reprieve from relegation last term, management duo Dixie McNeil and
Graham Jones have moved to bring in more experience for the coming campaign.
"It's been our aim to bring in more experienced players and we hope they
will pass on that experience to the other players," said McNeil, who has
also added 20-year-old midfielder Matthew Cook who was released by Chester City.
