PORT Talbot slumped to a club record 8-0 defeat as they finished with nine men at Stebonheath Park.
Rhys Griffiths led the way with a hat-trick and now has 13 league goals for the season as Llanelli consolidated their lead at the top of the Welsh Premier.
The Reds were already four goals to the good when the Steelmen's Gareth Phillips was dismissed on 58 minutes and Griffiths scored from the spot. Chad Bond followed for an early bath 15 minutes from time and the visitors leaked three more goals to a Mark Jones brace and Griffiths again.
Rhyl reclaimed third spot on goal difference from Carmarthen with a comfortable 4-1 win at NEWI Cefn Druids. Chris Sharp made his long-awaited league return from a broken leg as an 87th-minute sub
and marked the occasion with the Lillies' fourth goal deep into injury time.
Losing third place was scant reward for the Old Gold's first-ever win at Aberystwyth with goals from Greg Coombes and Danny Thomas.
Welshpool moved into fifth with a 3-0 home win over strugglers Llangefni, but had to wait until the 61st-minute to open their account through Ross Stephens, with Chris Venables adding a late brace. 26 October 2007
