REDS SHOULD BE PROUD - GRIFFITHS

Rhys Griffiths walks after a red card in Sunday's Welsh Cup final.
WELSH Premier player of the year and Golden Boot Rhys Griffiths says Llanelli's Welsh Cup heartache should not be allowed to overshadow a record-breaking season at Stebonheath Park.
The Reds lifted their first league title along with the Loosemores League Cup, but defeat in three other cup finals has left some deflated.
But Griffiths feels Llanelli's achievements should not be affected by missing out on more silverware.
"Once everyone has had a bit more time to reflect on what we have achieved we will realise it has been a great season," he told the Llanelli Star.
"At the moment I have a bitter taste in my mouth because of what happened on Sunday. But on reflection you can look back proudly knowing that we have raised the bar once again.
"Losing in the finals of the FAW Premier Cup, West Wales Senior Cup and Welsh Cup was very disappointing. We could have ended with five trophies.
"We took two and that's not something people should talk down. This club has taken giant steps forward this season and we should respect that."
Griffiths did blot his copybook with a red card in Sunday's 4-2 final defeat to Bangor City, which will see him miss the opening three league games of next season.
Dismissed for an elbow on Martin Beattie, he added: "I retaliated to what he did and I shouldn't have. It was a case of red mist and I'm disappointed because of the games I will miss."
