Started off in the Swansea Junior League in 1987 before appointment as a Welsh League assistant in 1992. Became a Welsh Premier referee in 1997 and appointed to the FIFA list in 2003. Took charge of the televised FAW Premier Cup semi-finals at Wrexham in 2004 and 2006.
