Welsh Premier Under-21 League

THIRTEEN clubs originally agreed to participate in the Welsh Premier's ill-fated Under-21 League in 2005/6. Selected clubs from outside the league who had ambition to reach the Welsh Premier and had appropriate facilities were also invited to join the midweek floodlight competition, divided into two conferences on a north/south basis.
Aberystwyth, Caernarfon, Cardiff Grange Quins and Haverfordwest subsequently withdrew, with Welshpool joining in midway through the season. A combination of postponements through bad weather and the inability of clubs to raise teams resulted in neither of the conferences completing its fixtures.
However, Cwmbran eventually triumphed over Bangor City in the play-off final at Rhayader's Wierglodd.
The FAW was forced to abandon plans for a 2006/7 competition with only four Welsh Premier clubs in a total of seven applicants.

Crows fight back to deny City
CWMBRAN Town won the inaugural Under-21 trophy with a late fightback to deny Bangor City at Rhayader's Wierglodd.
Trailing to a 57th minute goal from Craig Tipton, the Crows hit back with two goals in four minutes from Chris Pearce and Joseph Carless.
City had the ball in the net in the third minute only to be denied by the offside flag and generally dominated their Gwent opponents in the first-half, although Carless missed a golden opportunity to put Cwmbran in front when through on goal with only Darren Owen to beat.
Bangor deservedly took the lead through Craig Tipton's 57th minute strike but a handling error by keeper Owen allowed Carless to feed Pearce for the equaliser.
The Cwmbran comeback was complete when Carless atoned for his earlier miss to cut in from the left and fire past Owen.
Jamie Stokes should have put the result beyond doubt in the final minute but missed with only Owen to beat and the Crows almost paid the penalty when keeper Nicholas Church was forced to make an injury-time save to stop Darren Ishmael from taking the game into extra-time.
