Campione! Season 2 – Review, News, Release Date – 2021

Packed with action, drama, romance and amazing adventures this Japanese anime called Campione!, was a success among viewers when it first came out in the year 2012. But 9 years have passed since the first season came out, and fans are still waiting for season 2.

A Peek Into The Storyline

In the first season of the series we get to meet our main character Godou Kusanagi, who used to be a baseball player but had to retire due to injuries. Asked by his grandfather to return a stone tablet to a friend he encounters startling situations in life and somehow ends up killing the God of war and becoming a Campione.

So, now he is responsible to keep the dissenting Gods in check and basically rule the world. But this duty comes with many unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances. One such problem is a girl named Erica who through her shenanigans lands Godou in precarious situations. Therefore, the whole story revolves around the adventures and misadventures of our protagonist.

Casting Choices We Can Expect

This series had a few characters as it is and they are not going to change. The main characters like Godou Kusanagi who was voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka in the Japanese version and Blake Shepard in the English one, Erica Blandelli voiced by Yoko Hikasa (Japanese) and Monica Rial (English) will remain unchanged.

Other secondary characters such as Yuri Mariya voiced by Kana Hanazawa (Japanese) and Hilary Haag(English), Liliana Kranjcar voiced by Eri Kitamura (Japanese) and Genevieve Simmons (English), Ena Seishun voiced by Yuka Saito (Japanese) and Carli Mosier (English) will be there as well in season 2. Some very little changes may occur and a few more characters might also be added in season 2 but the main cast will be the same.

When Can We Expect The Release

Many fans have speculated that season 2 might be released sometime between the years 2022 and 2023 because most studios have already many other shows lined up. The creators have not yet confirmed the release date or even the year. But on the plus side, the show has not been officially canceled as well, so the fans should not lose their hope yet.
