Lukaku Helped United Earn Victory Over Chelsea

It was another match for Manchester and Chelsea to unleash their rivalry and it doesn’t come better than at this point in the season. It, however, might not be a league decider but it still carries the weight of a big game in the land.

It did not disappoint as the game lived up to expectation. Both sides were on the attacking front from start to finish.

It was Chelsea that started on the front foot and was attacking despite being the away side. United was lethargic and didn’t look like a team ready for the game. Chelsea was asking questions from the United back line as Hazard and Willian pile pressure on them.

Alvaro Morata had a great opportunity to put the Blues ahead but missed. It didn’t take long before Willian finally got the opener in the 32nd minute. The goal made Jose Mourinho realize how badly they were playing and in no time got back into the game.

They only allowed the Chelsea lead to last seven minutes before Romelu Lukaku equalized in the 39th minute. That first half equalizer help stabilize the match.

The first half ended in that fashion and both coaches had the luxury of the half time break to regroup and go for the three points. It seems it was Jose Mourinho that took the initiative as he set up his team all attack that Conte’s men were now on the back foot despite scoring first. The play went on and the United search for a winner intensify. It finally came in the 75th minute. Substitute, Jesse Lingard pounced on a cross from Lukaku to score the winner for United. It was a goal well deserved for the home side.

United now move back to second place ahead of Liverpool and are six points clear of Chelsea who now seats fifth on the log.
